This is a pitch for our film Between The Piers by Producer and Director Simon Pitts. The screenplay is by Carol Younghusband. Simon and Carol have collaborated on the prize-winning Alzheimer's themed-film funded by BUPA "Ten Glorious Seconds" featuring actor David Suchet (Poirot) and on the recently completed Canon-funded "The Touch".
Our film references the passage from 2 Corinthians 4:18 "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." (King James Bible "Authorized Version", Cambridge Edition) Between the Piers tells a story of timelessness, of the eternal rhythms of the earth, and speaks to the highest qualities, the fruit of the spirit, that are in St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians. And being eternal, and of and for everyone, the theme of our film has an international appeal. Many have written on the subject, and we also found Pastor Aina Mobolaji Temitope commenting on this theme. "... it is the Spirit that can not be seen, hence it is only what the Spirit produces that are eternal; love, joy,patience..." This passage and our interest in it is about a profound sense of peace and joy that our film seeks to reflect, create in the viewer and promote to audiences.
