When God cast out Adam and Eve for disobeying him their punishment was to suffer the pain of a mortal life and banishment from paradise.
However, Eve, was punished further:
God said: ‘I will make your pains in childbearing severe; with painful labour you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you."
This punishment was placed upon all women and in a similar world to ours, His will has been carried out by men, by taking our voices upon the birth of each female child.
However, our heroine, pregnant, fearful for the fate of her unborn daughter and tired of being silent, joins with the growing movement protesting this.
Rising up to try to change the ways passed down for generations, and exploring through film how to be powerful and strong without having a voice.
This is the story of the Voiceless.
I'm using the passage in Genesis - Chapter 3 Verse 16 in which God gives Eve a punishment that all women have been doomed to suffer. I explore this more literally by demonstrating men's rule over women, by having my film take place in a word where women are stripped of their voice.
