Description

Side effect is a powerful short film about a young man called Jay. Jay has a loving family and is a very bright lad with excellent prospects for his future. The one thing he had missing was friendships. From a young age he found joining in difficult so watched from the side lines. As the years passed he found him self alone more and more often as his parents worked long hours to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. College life consisted of the same daily routine until one afternoon last year. He saw a familiar face struggling to carry something heavy so stopped and offered to help. They spoke briefly and slowly over weeks a friendship was formed. His friend had the latest gadgets fashionable clothing and never short of money. At first Jay was impressed and quite envious. His mate said he was running late and asked Jay to run a small errand, Jay was only to happy to feel included and do what ever was asked of him. Weeks passed and slowly the penny dropped and he realised what the errands had entailed and what the expensive gift and money was for

Biblical Connection

1- Jesus was tested in the wilderness just as Jay was to be tested. Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil Jay was led by satan and trapped in the wilderness of his mind. 2 - After Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights he was hungry. 3 - The tempter said "if you are the son of god tell the stones to become bread" 4 - The tempter said to Jay if these are your parents ask them to free you. Jay replied why would they they care and love me and want me safe. 5 - the devil took Jesus to the Holy city and had him on the highest point of the temple. 6 - "if you are the son of god," throw yourself down. For it is written "He will co and his angels concerning you, And they will lift you up in their hands, so that you do not strike you foot against the stone. 7 - Jay replied I can no longer put my parents to the test. There word is true and honest and they are my protector. 8 - Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain
