Cookie Policy

The Pitch is promoted by the charity Bible Society. This policy explains how enterthepitch.com uses cookies and how you can control them. If you have any questions, email us at [email protected].
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let the site remember things about your visit, such as whether you're signed in. We also use your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way; in this policy we call it a cookie too.
We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work unless you agree to more. We never use cookies to show you adverts or to track you across other websites.
How we use cookies
Necessary cookies
These make the site work, so they're always on. They keep you signed in (for up to 30 days, or until you sign out), protect our forms from misuse, help you finish creating an account, and remember your cookie choices. Our staff use a few more when they sign in to manage the site.
Analytics cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: which pages they visit and how far they get through applying or signing up. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visitors apart; it doesn't tell us who you are.
We've set it up to collect as little as possible. We never send Google links that give access to your application or account, Google's advertising features are switched off, and the data is deleted after 14 months. Google may process this data outside the UK, with safeguards in place.
Marketing cookies
We don't use any. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Other companies' cookies
Some pages use services from other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- PayPal takes the application fee securely and helps prevent fraud (PayPal's cookie statement).
- YouTube and Vimeo play videos on some pages (Google's cookie policy, Vimeo's cookie policy).
Managing your cookies
You can change your choices at any time with the Manage Cookies link at the bottom of every page. If you turn analytics off, we stop it straight away and remove its cookies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block necessary cookies you won't be able to sign in or apply.
More information
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information. You can find out more about cookies on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
We'll update this policy, and the date above, if the cookies we use change.
Don't miss your chance to apply to our next Commission.
